Chapter 1: Trust the Journey

My very first post on my first blog... If you count xanga but I only used xanga to test out my coding skills and how cool I can make it look haha.  But still, kind of a scary feeling because I really don't know who'll be reading this once it's published - eekkk!

I'll try to keep this short.  But basically this post is not just about my journey in life but in photography.  For those that don't know I actually worked a 9 to 5 job the past 10+ years with computers.  At first I thought that it was my career path and pursued it because troubleshooting came natural for me... and that I made a decent living.  But that's the thing - it was just a decent living... who wants to live life that way; super long hours, gotta put up with a bossy boss, and being confined in a cubicle literally sucks the life out of you!

Creativity runs deep in my family.  Shoot... we've all got some creative bone in our body - it's just a matter of time to nurture it, care for it, and to just believe in it.  Jim Carey said it best from his commencement speech in 2014:

"I used to believe that who I was ended at the edge of my skin, that I had been given this little vehicle called a body from which to experience creation, and though I couldn’t have asked for a sportier model, it was after all a loaner and would have to be returned. Then, I learned that everything outside the vehicle was a part of me, too, and now I drive a convertible. Top down wind in my hair!"

I guess in a nutshell just be happy... because even though you're not getting want you want now you should be able to just enjoy the journey that leads up to that next big thing!
